Oh you must be the newbie, I’m Spread Needle, the youngest Ranger specialist! Don’t let that fool you though, I know my way ’round a needle gun! Let’s get started,  RaIcon Ranger/Braver Braver (or Ra/Br for short) offers increased weak spot damage with Weak Stance in exchange for survivability. Additionally, you gain access to Bows, allowing you to do potent burst damage and Katanas, which allows you to use one of the best short distance movement PAs: Asagiri-Rendan.

Weak Stance & Weak Bullet Interaction

According to June,

Weak Stance requires a minimum of 115% Part Damage Multiplier (PDM) to apply. This is not to be mixed with Attribute Damage Multiplier as its interaction with Weak Stance is restricted to Tech Type Damage. As Weak Bullet increases PDM by 20%, this means a theoretical enemy with 94% PDM will only be brought up to 114%, making Weak Stance still ineligible.

The misconception of it requiring a minimum of 120% stems from the fact that only one known enemy in the game (given the limited resources and data mined) has a natural PDM of 115%. This is Dark Ragne’s head/crown. Everything else are well above 120% for natural weak point PDMs.

There is an additional 10% bonus from using your main class weapon, which is a title reward from collecting weapons.

With Ranger’s damage modifiers, which is 2.65687357x for reference, shows that our total damage modifiers will be 5.046459017x (504.6%) with Average Stance & bonuses, 5.275843518x (527.6%) with a bow. The weapon class title doesn’t apply to bows as it is not a main-class weapon for Ranger.

Issues with Ranger/Braver

There are some issues with Ra/Br:

  1. More bosses are being introduced with lack of weak spots and frequent attacks, making it difficult to survive attacks while dealing damage.
  2. Ranger can’t equip Katanas and Bows, and must either purchase or craft said weapons that allows Ranger usage.
  3. Because of the above restriction Rangers cannot use endgame Bows, limiting their damage output.

The introduction of 14Star Blood Series and craftable New Type weapons allows Rangers access to a strong bow, but Braver main is still the better class for Bow-focused builds.
